WORLDs MOST INTERESTING MAN . . .

. . . just got a little less interesting.

Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” will host a fund-raiser for Obama Tuesday in Burlington, Vermont.

I've been drinking Dos Equis since I arrived in this country, back in '81, back when the “Most Interesting Man in the World” was still a two-bit actor. Since that time I've led a pretty interesting life - serving this country on five continents - and during the course of some pretty challenging adventures I've slaked my thirst with a lot of beer . . .

Nobody knows where or when they will die but I do know this: I just drank my last Dos Equis.

You know, it's a shame; I kind of liked those "Most Interesting Man" commercials - too bad the World's Most Interesting Man just depthcharged his very successful twilight career. Now he's just the World's Latest Stupid Celebrity.

Adios, Amigo - it was nice knowing you.

"Stay thirsty, my friends."

  2. Luckily we have one of your Bro's in my town who runs a liquor store and he has been able to get us Kloster Reutberg beer(s). That's the only beer I drink anymore; y'all ruined me for anything else.

  3. That's good beer - my personal favorites include Tsingtao, Singha, Foster's Lager, Harp Ale, and of course the mighty, mighty Guinness Stout.

Hey - what a great idea for a post! We can turn this blog into a beer blog for a day!

    Cheers,

  4. Doing one here in Vermont? Well, don't that beat all? They keep returning to the well to tap the 'faithful' even here in little poor Vermont. Must be the more affluent former residents of other states are still willing to part with some of their trust fund income to keep Dear Leader in office.

Too bad about the idiot actor. Dos Equis was my favorite Mex brew. Was.

  6. My response to the commercials has always been, "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer this horse piss Dos Equis." After those particular ads came out, I have never had another Dos Equis. I'd rather have an IPA, Guinness, or Pilsner Urquell.

  8. As a Vermonter, I do not find it at all strange that every fraud in favor of the Dear Leader tries hustling cash in Burlington. It is the bastion of liberalism in a liberal state.

There is however, still some of us who remember how Vermont was before the hippie invasion. And how Vermont was founded by men who spit in the face of Yorker tyranny.

If your up this way Sir, try the Stowe mountain ale. An exceptional 7% porter.

  9. Well, the "reply" tag was being uncooperative.
So we'll just write down here.
Tsingtao - ahh the romance of one of my first/best port calls - Hong Kong BEFORE '97. Felt like a real sailorman seeing that tincan anchored between HK and Kowloon from atop the peak.
Not much for Singha - there was a local Kronenburg (sp?) brewery in Thailand back in the day.
One of my SF friends maintains that Augustiener is better than Reutberg but that's one of the few disagreements we have about important things.
Pilsner Urquel IS one of the best ever; there's a ski town up the road from us where a restaurant has it on tap. Civilized, that.

  10. When I first got to this country I lived in San Francisco for awhile before enlisting in the US Army. I mixed with lots of different kinds of people - to include a lot of liberals (can't avoid them in the Bay Area). During a beer resupply run one night, it was explained to me that Coors is "reactionary beer" - I immediately drew a case out of the cooler and I've been enjoying the beer of Rocky Mountain water ever since.

Another great beer from out west is henry Weinhard's - I've never seen them east of the Mississippi.

    Cheers, S.L.

  11. I think I'll forward this link to Dos Equis and explain that I'm forwarding to every red-blooded American blogsite I can find until they publically distance themselves from this douchebag...
